I had a baby in 2020!
It was an amazing experience, but it came with a few unexpected details: COVID & quarantining before baby arrived!
Part of quarantining meant I did not get as many haircuts as I probably would have liked. Then baby arrived and we were busy with three kids, a dog, and going back to work full-time. Now, I have always had long hair, but this is the longest it has ever been! Baby loves to tangle his little fingers in and pull- and he is as strong as his mama! Ouch!
I have always wanted to donate my hair, but never really got it long enough, until now. Over my maternity leave I found out that a lot of donated hair cannot be used for many reasons you would expect: hair coloring, not long enough, sent in inappropriately (wet, not in elastics, etc). Yet, there was one reason I never thought about- the money it takes to take the donated hair and make it into a wig. It is an extremely tedious process. Wigsforkids states that it takes $1,800.00 to make one wig for a child!
For Giving Tuesday, I am asking for your help! I want to give my hair and a monetary donation so that a wig can be made for a child. Please consider donating- any amount is appreciated to help me reach my goal!
With love,
Brittany Fisher
