​Follow These Simple Steps for Your Fundraising Success!

​Thank you for your interest in developing a fundraiser for Wigs For Kids! Our work depends on the generosity and support of individuals such as yourself. You can make a tremendous impact on the lives of the children we serve with your fundraising efforts.

Follow these easy steps to your fundraising success!

  • Create your personal fundraising page-simply click on Launch Your Campaign
  • Complete the form Create Your Own Personal Fundraiser
    Set your goal (keep in mind the average production cost for a wig is $2,000)
  • Share your story

Here are some ideas that will help you along the way:

  • Tell people why you have chosen to fundraise for Wigs For Kids
  • The #1 reason people give is because someone asks. You raise money when you ask for it. So be sure to ask everyone you know!
  • If you are donating your hair, share why you have chosen to donate your hair and why you have chosen Wigs For Kids
  • If you have personally experienced hair loss or know someone who has, share the story. Make it personal, people will be more inspired to give.
  • If you are donating your hair, share pictures of before and after.; getting your ponytails cut and of you holding your ponytails.

Make It Fun:

  • If you are donating your hair, encourage people to give x amount for each inch you donate. For example, $12 per inch. Imagine the impact you can have if you donate 14'", you have 50 donors, that equals $1,400.
  • Hold a contest, the largest donor gets to make the first cut or gets to choose the type of haircut you get
  • Make a video with your phone of you donating your hair, share it far and wide, encouraging people to give.

Promote, Promote, Promote!​

  • Use social media to share your fundraising efforts, be sure to provide the link to your personal fundraising page.
  • Send emails to everyone in your network.
  • Create a flyer with your fundraising information and distribute to your friends, co-workers, neighbors, family. Ask us and we can create a QR code for you to include on your flyer, directing right to your fundraising page.

Provide updates:

  • Be sure to share your success and how close you are to reaching your goal.
  • Thank individuals for donating to your fundraiser
  • Share when you have reached or surpassed your goal
