Parker Wooten is 6 years old and a 1st grader in Frisco, TX. She is kind, loving, funny and a very silly little girl. A few weeks ago as we were eating a very healthy dinner of wings and fries, she told me she wanted to cut her hair and give it to a little girl with cancer. Parker was born with a lot of hair and it has been past her waist for many years. Strangers and friends often tell her that she looks like the princess from Tangled and for a 6 yr old, you cannot get a better compliment. Because of this, she has always been very proud of her long locks and has never wanted to have her hair cut.  It warmed my heart to hear her want to do such a kind thing for someone she has never met and go so drastically short for her first cut.
We have been very fortunate to not have any close friends or family with severe and life threatening cancers. Parker has never been exposed to this awful sickness firsthand, but we have always raised our daughters to be the voice of people that can’t stick up for themselves. It did not surprise me that she came up with this idea on her own.
Parker does not understand the severity of cancer at 6 years old but she understands she will be helping a sick little girl that has lost all of her hair feel more beautiful.
We have chosen Wigs for Kids because they offer wigs to sick children 100% free of charge to their families. Because of this, we need your help to complete the process of getting a hairpiece made.
We are fortunate to have a local news station covering this story on my daughter and the magic that Parker’s first haircut can give to a child. Parker will be getting her haircut on May 18th and the story will likely run that evening. Please help us raise as much money as possible to get this hair-piece done. Parker’s hair will help just one little girl but your donations can help many kids that just want to be accepted and loved by the outside world. Having no hair should be the problem of middle aged men, not precious children that just want to feel healthy and look like the kids they go to school with, play soccer with and go to dance class with.
Thank you for helping us support this wonderful cause.
